How long is the drive from Eagle Airport to Vail?
The drive from Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) to Vail Village is 35 miles and takes approximately 45 minutes in normal conditions via Interstate 70 East. In heavy winter weather or active I-70 chain laws, expect 60-90 minutes. The route does not cross Vail Pass.
01Normal conditions: 45 minutes
EGE sits 35 miles west of Vail Village along I-70. The drive is direct — east on I-70 the entire way, no exits onto secondary roads, no mountain passes. In daylight clear conditions, 45 minutes door-to-door from Door 6 to Vail Village hotels.
02Winter conditions: 45-90 minutes
In light snow or rain, add 10-15 minutes. In heavy snow or active CDOT Code 15 (passenger vehicle traction law) or Code 16 (chains required), expect 60-90 minutes. Eagle Mountain Express vehicles are equipped for chain laws and our chauffeurs monitor CDOT continuously.
