Safe rides, every time.
Eagle Mountain Express has operated since 2020 with one constant: every passenger gets home safe. That commitment shows up in how we hire, how we maintain our fleet, how we drive in winter, and how we carry insurance.
01Chauffeur vetting
Every chauffeur on our team goes through a structured hiring process before driving a single passenger. We don't subcontract — every driver is on staff with Eagle Mountain Express, with skin in the game.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) verified at hire and renewed annually
- DOT medical certification current at all times
- Multi-state criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, drug screening at hire and randomly thereafter
- Minimum 5 years professional driving experience
- Local Vail Valley experience required — no out-of-region drivers
02Vehicle maintenance
Our fleet of GMC Yukon Denalis, Cadillac Escalades, and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Vans is maintained on a strict service schedule that exceeds manufacturer recommendations.
- Pre-trip inspection before every passenger pickup (tires, fluids, lights, brakes, signals)
- Full multi-point inspection every 5,000 miles or 30 days, whichever comes first
- Winter tire installation by November 1, all-season removal after May 15
- AAA Plus roadside coverage on every vehicle for backup
- Average fleet age under 4 years — vehicles are retired before they wear out
03Winter driving
I-70 in winter is its own discipline. Our chauffeurs are trained for it, and our equipment is ready for it.
- All vehicles equipped with dedicated winter tires meeting Colorado Traction Law requirements (Code 15)
- Tire chains carried in every vehicle for active chain law conditions (Code 16)
- All-wheel drive standard across the fleet
- CDOT condition monitoring built into every dispatch — proactive rerouting around closures
- Annual winter driving recertification for all chauffeurs
04Insurance & licensing
Eagle Mountain Express, operated by CJ Transportation and Affiliates, carries commercial-grade insurance well above state minimums.
- $1.5M combined single limit commercial auto liability per vehicle
- Public Utilities Commission of Colorado authority — registered carrier
- USDOT and MC numbers on file with FMCSA
- Workers' compensation coverage for every chauffeur
