Aspen Airport (ASE) is closed April 23 to May 21, 2026 — how do I get to Aspen?
During the ASE closure window for required runway maintenance, Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) is the closest alternative at 68 miles with a 90-minute private transfer. Pre-booking is strongly recommended because shared shuttle and rideshare availability at EGE is significantly reduced during the closure. Our flat-rate transfers from EGE to Aspen and Snowmass start at $499 — confirmed vehicle, fixed rate, door-to-door.
Can you accommodate ski, snowboard, and golf equipment?
Yes. Every vehicle in our fleet — GMC Yukon Denali, Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, and Sprinter Van XL — is sized for full ski, snowboard, and golf gear plus luggage. For groups of 10 or more with full ski equipment, we recommend the Sprinter Van XL.
Do you pick up at hotels in Vail Village, Beaver Creek, and Aspen?
Yes. We provide door-to-door pickup at all hotels and private residences including Four Seasons Resort Vail, Sonnenalp, The Lodge at Vail, The Sebastian, Grand Hyatt Vail, Arrabelle at Vail Square, Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch, Westin Riverfront, The Little Nell, St. Regis Aspen, Hotel Jerome, W Aspen, and Viceroy Snowmass. Just provide your hotel name and address when booking.
How is EGE different from flying into Denver International (DEN) or Aspen (ASE)?
Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) is 35 miles from Vail (45 min drive) and 68 miles from Aspen (90 min). Denver International (DEN) is 120 miles from Vail (2+ hours and crosses Vail Pass with weather risk). Aspen-Pitkin (ASE) is closer to Aspen but has frequent weather cancellations and a 28-day annual closure each spring. EGE has more reliable weather, longer runways, and direct flights from Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Newark, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Toronto.
What if Vail Pass closes due to weather?
Our chauffeurs are I-70 veterans who know every back road and weather contingency. Vail Pass closures rarely affect EGE-to-Vail or EGE-to-Beaver Creek transfers because that route stays west of the pass on I-70. For Aspen transfers via Glenwood Canyon, we monitor CDOT closures continuously and adjust departure timing or routing as needed.
Do you offer group transfers and corporate events?
Yes — up to 14 passengers in a single Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Van XL, or multi-vehicle convoys for ski groups, weddings, family reunions, and corporate retreats. We service the entire Vail Valley including Cordillera, Edwards, Avon, Minturn, Eagle-Vail, Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, and Arrowhead, plus Aspen and Snowmass. Call (970) 705-0500 for custom group quotes.
What's the difference between a private transfer and a shared shuttle?
A private transfer means just your party in the vehicle — no shared rides, no detours to other resorts, no fixed schedule to chase. Shared shuttles charge per person and stop at multiple destinations along the route, often adding 60–90 minutes to your travel time. Eagle Mountain Express provides only private transfers, with flat-rate pricing per vehicle.
Do you serve the Vail Valley Jet Center for private aviation arrivals?
Yes. We pick up at the Vail Valley Jet Center FBO at Eagle County Regional Airport (EGE) for private aircraft arrivals. Provide your tail number and FBO name at booking so we can position appropriately. Eagle Mountain Express services Eagle County Airport only — for private aviation pickups at Aspen-Pitkin (ASE) or Denver International (DEN), please contact those airports' ground transportation directly.
What's the cheapest way to get from EGE to Vail?
The cheapest option is the Core Transit (ECO) bus at roughly $4–7, which takes about 1 hour with stops. For a private experience, Eagle Mountain Express starts at $199 flat-rate per vehicle (up to 5 passengers) — about $40 per person for a family of five — with door-to-door service and no shared rides.
Do you operate year-round?
Yes. Eagle Mountain Express operates 365 days a year — through ski season, summer, mud season, and shoulder seasons. We don't shut down between seasons like many other transfer services. Eagle County Airport operates between 6am and 10pm; transfers are scheduled within those flight operating hours.
